Najmul Hossain Shanto has resigned as Test captain after the defeat to Sri Lanka: Bangladesh is currently on a tour of Sri Lanka for an all-format series. After the first match of the Test series was drawn, Bangladesh had to face defeat by an innings and 78 runs at the hands of the host team in the second Test match.

Shanto further said- I still think we should have batted first. The way we got out was not good enough. We made a lot of mistakes in our batting in the first innings. The way we bowled on the third day was worth watching in such conditions. I hope those players will perform well in the future as well.
