Both teams registered their first win of the season in their respective previous matches, while they faced defeats in the opening matches.
U Mumba held off a tough challenge from Gujarat Giants to win by a score of 33-27, with Amirmohamed Zafardanesh leading the way with eight raid points and two tackle points. The rest of the defence also chipped in, with left corner Sombir scoring four tackle points and captain Sunil Kumar scoring three points.
Bengal Warriors bounced back from a close loss to Jaipur Pink Panthers to beat UP Yoddhas 32-29 with dynamic third raider Sushil Kambrekar scoring some useful points in both raiding and defence to provide the necessary support to Maninder and Nitin Kumar.
