MS Dhoni is celebrating his 44th birthday on 7 July 2025. Mahi, one of the most successful captains in the world, was born in 1981 in Ranchi, Bihar (now in Jharkhand). Dhoni still lives there. He has retired from international cricket, now he only plays IPL. He again took over the captaincy of CSK after Rituraj was injured last season.

MS Dhoni was born in a Rajput family, his father's name is Pan Singh and mother's name is Devaki Devi. Dhoni is the youngest of his siblings. Dhoni did his schooling from DAV Jawahar Vidya Mandir, where he started playing football as a goalkeeper. However, he turned to cricket after the advice of the coach. From 2001 to 2003, Dhoni worked as a TTE (Traveling Ticket Examiner).

MS Dhoni's look was different from all other players. People also liked his aggressive playing style. His fan following increased a lot in the initial days itself. When Team India won the T20 World Cup in 2007 under his captaincy, a different kind of craze for him was seen among the people. After this, Dhoni became the star of India by winning the 2011 ODI World Cup and then the Champions Trophy in 2013.

MS Dhoni captaincy record

After winning the 2007 World Cup, MS Dhoni was appointed captain in all three formats in 2008. He has played a total of 332 international matches (60 Tests, 200 ODIs and 72 T20s) as captain. In these, India has won 179 matches and lost 120.
