One of the finest wrist spinners India has ever produced, Anil Kumble tops the list with 10 five-wicket hauls in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Kumble was a one-man-army for India with the ball at times, where he would turn the game on its head. He was part of the 20 Tests that India played against Australia, taking 111 wickets at 30.32 with best figures of 8/141 in an innings. Apart from taking 10 five-wicket hauls, he also has 2 10-wicket hauls to his name and still holds the record for India's highest wicket-taker.

Thanks to his record in Test matches for Australia, Nathan Lyon is regarded as one of the best finger-spinners to have ever played Test cricket. He always brought his A-game against India and playing against them brought out the best in him. In 18 Tests against India, Lyon has taken 85 wickets at an average of 32.60, with best bowling figures of 8/50. Nathan Lyon has taken 7 five-wicket hauls in this series. He also has the feat of taking 10 wickets against India.
Harbhajan Singh was a lethal spin bowler for India in Tests, especially in home conditions. Harbhajan was at his best when he played against Australia and it was in that famous 2001 home series against Australia that he came to the fore and made a name for himself. He played 18 Tests against Australia and took 95 wickets at an average of 29.95 with best figures of 8/84. Harbhajan Singh has taken 5 wicket haul 7 times.
Ravichandran Ashwin has gone on to become one of India's modern-day greats in Test match cricket. Though he has not been able to make much of an impact in away conditions, he has been an undisputed king in home conditions. Ashwin has so far played 19 Tests in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy and has taken 97 wickets at an average of 29.70, with best figures of 7/103. He also has one 10-wicket haul along with six 5-wicket hauls.
Ravindra Jadeja is the best all-rounder in test. Ravindra Jadeja has so far played 13 Tests in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy and has taken 70 wickets at an average of 18.12 with best figures of 6/63. He has five 4-wicket hauls.
