On Sunday, India defeated Pakistan by 7 wickets in the Asia Cup. The very next day, the ICC selected Mohammad Siraj as the men's player of the month of August. Siraj has been given this honor for his tremendous bowling in the Oval Test during the England tour. Siraj played only the Oval Test in the month of August, in which he bowled lethally and took 9 wickets in two innings.

Mohammad Siraj's performance in the Oval Test helped India a lot in finishing the Test series 2-2. England got a target of 374 runs in the fourth innings, but thanks to Siraj's 5 wickets, India managed to win that match by 6 runs. He also took 4 wickets in the first innings. He has achieved this honor by defeating New Zealand's Matt Henry and West Indies' Jaden Seals.

In the Oval Test, Mohammad Siraj bowled a total of 46.3 overs in both innings. Let us tell you that Siraj was the only Indian fast bowler who played in all 5 Test matches on the England tour. In this entire series, he bowled 185.3 overs, which was the highest. Siraj expressed happiness on receiving this special honor and said that his team members are as much entitled to this award as he himself is. After taking 23 wickets in the Test series against England, Mohammad Siraj also benefited in the rankings. He came to 15th place in the Test bowlers' rankings after this amazing performance. The number-1 Test bowler in the world is currently Jasprit Bumrah.
