Mohammad Siraj nominated for ICC Player of the Month award for August: Indian team's fast bowler Mohammed Siraj has been nominated for the ICC's Best Player of the Month award for August. Siraj impressed on the England tour and won the match for India with his strong bowling in the fifth Test. By winning this match, the Indian team was successful in drawing the five-match series 2-2.

Siraj has got this nomination for his strong performance in the Oval Test against England. He took 5 wickets in the last innings to give India a thrilling 6-run win. With the help of this win, India managed to draw the series despite trailing 2-1.

Many players from India and England were injured in this 5-match series, but Siraj played in 5 consecutive Tests. Not only this, he became the most successful bowler with 23 wickets. He bowled 185.3 overs.

ICC said - "Mohammad Siraj played only one Test match in August, but he got the nomination with that performance. In the last Test of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy against England, he took a total of 9 wickets to give India victory. In the absence of Jasprit Bumrah, Siraj led the attack with full force".

Siraj took 4 wickets in the first innings and 5 wickets in the second innings. Thanks to his brilliant performance, India won the Oval Test and leveled the series 2-2. He was declared 'Player of the Match'.
