India's star shooter Manu Bhaker created history at the Paris Olympics 2024. She became the country's first female shooter to win a medal at the Olympics. She won a bronze medal in the women's individual 10m air pistol final. Now if Manu wins another bronze medal for India in the mixed team 10m air pistol final with Sarabjot Singh today, she can create big history. If Manu wins another bronze medal, she will become the first athlete from independent India to win two medals in the same Olympic Games.
India's star shooter Manu Bhaker can win another medal in Paris Olympics 2024. Manu Bhaker has finished third in the 10m air pistol mixed team event. The pair of Manu Bhaker and Sarabjot Singh scored 580-2x and have now qualified for the bronze medal match.
Unfortunately for India, the pair of Rhythm Sangwan and Arjun Cheema could not secure qualification in the same event. With a score of 576-14x, the pair finished 10th and hence were out of the medal race. However, the pair of Manu Bhaker and Sarabjot Singh have definitely raised hopes of a medal. Manu Bhaker has already won a bronze medal in an event and can also get India a second medal.
Manu Bhaker is the first Indian female player to win an Olympic medal in shooting. Before her, only four male shooters had won Olympic medals but now Manu Bhaker has also made it to this list. India last won an Olympic medal in shooting in the 2012 Olympics. Since then, the country was waiting for a medal in this sport. Now Manu Bhaker has ended this wait.
Manu Bhaker won a medal for India at the international level in the year 2018. Not only this, Manu has also won medals in the Commonwealth Games apart from the ISSF World Cup. Manu has become a millionaire at the age of 22. Manu's pistol malfunctioned in the 2021 Tokyo Olympics. She could not aim for 20 minutes. After that the pistol was repaired, even then Manu could hit only 14 shots and was out of the final race. Due to which Manu was very sad but she came back with full spirit and won a medal for India in the Paris Olympics.
