Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) made key additions to their IPL 2026 squad at the auction held in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday, December 16. After a mediocre 2025 season, LSG wanted to improve their team and had already made some early moves by trading for Mohammad Shami and Arjun Tendulkar before the auction.
Overseas Players Added in LSG
LSG started strong by signing Sri Lankan spinner Wanindu Hasaranga at his base price of ₹2 crore. They also tried to get his national teammate, Matheesha Pathirana, but lost the bidding war to Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). Soon after, LSG added South African pacer Anrich Nortje at his base price of ₹2 crore, giving strength to their pace attack.
Uncapped Indian Players
The franchise also focused on young Indian talent. They signed Naman Tiwari and Mukul Choudhary in the uncapped player segment. LSG tried to acquire England all-rounder Liam Livingstone, but could not match the high bid by SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH).
LSG Big Bids
LSG made a big move by signing Josh Inglis for ₹8.60 crore, despite his limited availability. This signing completed their 25-player squad for IPL 2026.
