The Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) will play against the Delhi Capitals (DC) in Match 5 of IPL 2026 at the Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow on Wednesday, April 1. Both teams have strong bowling attacks and will want to start the season with a good performance.
Lucknow Super Giants added big bowlers like Anrich Nortje and Wanindu Hasaranga in the IPL 2026 auction. They also traded for experienced Indian pacer Mohammad Shami from Sunrisers Hyderabad. Under the captaincy of Rishabh Pant, LSG will look to begin the tournament with a win.

Kuldeep Yadav was the top wicket-taker for Delhi Capitals in IPL 2025. The left-arm spinner took 15 wickets in 14 matches with a good economy rate of 7.07. His best bowling figure last season was 3/22.
Delhi Capitals showed trust in him by retaining him for ₹13.25 crore before the IPL 2026 auction. In his IPL career so far, Kuldeep has taken 102 wickets in 98 matches.
He has also performed well against Lucknow Super Giants. In seven matches against LSG, he has taken nine wickets, with best figures of 3/20.
Overall, Kuldeep has taken 241 wickets in 189 T20 matches. He has also played for India in Tests, ODIs, and T20Is, showing his experience at the international level.
2. Auqib Nabi (DC)

Auqib Nabi may make his IPL debut in this match for Delhi Capitals. The franchise bought him for ₹8.40 crore in the last auction.
The 29-year-old fast bowler had an excellent domestic season. He played a big role in Jammu & Kashmir winning the Ranji Trophy 2025-26, taking 60 wickets in 17 innings, including seven five-wicket hauls.
He also performed well in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2026, taking 14 wickets in seven matches. Before that, he took 15 wickets in seven matches in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2025.
In T20 cricket, Nabi has taken 43 wickets in 34 matches with an economy rate of 7.74. Delhi Capitals will hope he can strengthen their pace bowling attack this season.
3. Mukesh Kumar (DC)

Mukesh Kumar has been an important bowler for Delhi Capitals in recent seasons. He has taken 36 wickets in 32 IPL matches so far.
In IPL 2025, Mukesh had a good season, taking 17 wickets in 10 matches. One of his best performances came against Lucknow Super Giants at the Ekana Stadium, where he took 4 wickets for 33 runs.
Overall, Mukesh has taken seven wickets in five matches against LSG.
He has also represented India in 17 T20Is, six ODIs, and three Tests, taking 32 international wickets across formats. Recently, he picked up five‑wicket hauls in domestic matches in the Vijay Hazare Trophy and Ranji Trophy.
