Fast bowler Mayank Yadav, popularly known as Express, has been ruled out of the remainder of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season due to a back injury. The franchise gave this information on Thursday, May 15.
Lucknow Super Giants have replaced Mayank with New Zealand fast bowler William O'Rourke in the squad for the remainder of the league stage and potentially the playoffs. Mayank Yadav played just two matches for Lucknow after being out of the team for a long time due to injury. This is a big setback for the 22-year-old fast bowler who could not handle his body after a brilliant performance in IPL 2024.

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) have signed New Zealand fast bowler William O'Rourke to replace Mayank Yadav, the IPL said in a statement. Yadav has suffered a back injury and is ruled out of the remainder of the season. William O'Rourke will replace him and his reserve price will be Rs 3 crore.
Punjab Kings have included Kyle Jamieson in the team in place of injured Lockie Ferguson. This New Zealand all-rounder has been bought by the Shreyas Iyer-led team for Rs 2 crore.
