Krishnamachari Srikkanth demanded to include Vaibhav in the team

Rajasthan Royals batsman Vaibhav Suryavanshi caught the attention of the selectors by performing brilliantly in IPL 2025. He scored 252 runs in just seven matches and his strike rate was more than 200. Against Gujarat Titans, he scored the second fastest century in IPL history by scoring a century in just 35 balls. In such a situation, the battle to make a place in the top order for Team India's Asia Cup squad is becoming very exciting. The 14-year-old batsman continued this form on the England tour.

Srikkanth said in a YouTube show, 'You have to play fearlessly. Don't make him wait. Don't say things like 'let him mature'. He is already playing with remarkable maturity. His shot-making is of a different level. If I were the chairman, I would definitely include him in the 16 players.'

Wicketkeeper and finisher

With Nitish Kumar Reddy and Rishabh Pant yet to recover from their injuries, Shivam Dubey could be the second fast bowling all-rounder after Hardik. There will be competition between Jitesh Sharma and Dhruv Jurel for the second wicketkeeper. Jitesh played the role of finisher well for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) during IPL 2025 and could be the right choice for the lower order.

Team India Spinner

In the bowling department, Kuldeep Yadav, Varun Chakravarthy and Ravi Bishnoi are among the contenders for the same place and Yuzvendra Chahal cannot be ignored for long either. The selectors have to select only 15 players and in terms of T20, it will be interesting to see what the selection committee decides. An important member of the team management believes that it would be unfair to drop any player who was regularly included in the playing-11 in the last season to make room for a big star.

Report: Report: 3 bold decisions

A report is coming out, according to which, the selection committee can take three bold decisions during the meeting. Let's know about these decisions.

1. Shubman Gill will be dropped?

According to the report, there is no place for Shubman Gill in the team for Asia Cup 2025. The selection committee can field the pair of Abhishek Sharma and Sanju Samson for opening.

At the same time, Yashasvi Jaiswal will be the third option for opening. However, Gill can get a chance only if coach Gautam Gambhir insists on selecting him. If this happens, Yashasvi will be dropped again.

2. No place for Mohammed Siraj

Despite taking the most wickets for India on the England tour, Mohammed Siraj can be dropped for Asia Cup 2025.

Jasprit Bumrah can be selected for this tournament. Siraj's selection has become quite challenging. Arshdeep Singh, Prasidh Krishna and Harshit Rana are available for the second pace bowling option. Mohammed Shami may also not be selected.

3. Shreyas Iyer Dropped?

Shreyas Iyer, who performed brilliantly in the middle order in IPL 2025, may be dropped for the T20I Asia Cup selection. Tilak Verma, Suryakumar Yadav and Rinku Singh can be selected for the middle order, while Shivam Dubey and Washington Sundar can get a place in the team along with Hardik Pandya for the all-rounder.
