Canada qualified for the T20 World Cup 2026 on Sunday. The team defeated Bahamas by seven wickets in the America Regional Qualifying Final and qualified for the T20 World Cup 2026 to be jointly hosted by India and Sri Lanka next year. In this way, Canada became the 13th team to qualify for this 20-team tournament.
This will be Canada's second time playing in India: This will be Canada's second time participating in a World Cup held in India. Earlier, they participated in the 2011 ODI World Cup, which was jointly hosted by India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. However, they won just one match in that tournament. This year, Canada also qualified for the 2024 T20 World Cup for the first time. They won against Ireland, but the match against India was washed out due to rain, sealing their exit from the tournament.

13 teams have qualified for T20 World Cup 2026 and 7 places are still left. Now Europe, Africa and Asia Pacific qualifiers are to be played and 2-2 teams will qualify from Europe-Africa qualifiers and 3 teams will enter from Asia Pacific. These qualifiers will be played in Netherlands, Zimbabwe and Oman.
