The first century in the Asia Cup T20 format was not scored by a player from a major Test-playing team, but by Babar Hayat, a batsman from Associate nation Hong Kong. This century came against Oman in the qualifier match of the 2016 edition.

Inning: Babar Hayat created history by scoring 122 runs off just 60 balls. His stormy innings included 9 fours and 7 towering sixes.

Importance: This century was the first century in the history of the Asia Cup T20. It was an inspirational moment for the Associate nations, demonstrating that even small nations can perform brilliantly on the big stage.

2. Virat Kohli (India) - 2022

A century drought of nearly three years finally ended on the T20 format stage of the Asia Cup. Virat Kohli, the "King" of Indian cricket, scored his first T20I century in a memorable innings against Afghanistan in the 2022 Asia Cup.

Innings: Opening the innings, Kohli scored an explosive 122* (not out) off just 61 balls. He hit 12 fours and 6 sixes, with a strike rate close to 200.

Importance: This century proved to be a major turning point for Virat Kohli. It was his 71st international century, equaling the record held by the legendary Ricky Ponting. It was his first T20I century and the second century in Asia Cup T20 history. This innings marked Kohli's return to form.

3. Pathum Nissanka (Sri Lanka) - 2025

The latest player to score a century in the Asia Cup T20 format is Sri Lankan opener Pathum Nissanka. He showcased his class with a brilliant century in the Super-4 match against India in the 2025 Asia Cup.

Inning: Chasing India's mammoth target of 203, Nissanka scored 107 runs off just 58 balls. His innings included 7 fours and 6 sixes.

Importance: This century was Pathum Nissanka's first century in T20 Internationals. This century was also special because it was the first century scored while chasing a target in Asia Cup T20 history (although his team lost the match in the Super Over). Nissanka's century made him the third player and the first Sri Lankan player to score a century in Asia Cup T20.
