India won the recently concluded ODI series against England 3-0. Here's how their clean-sweep has changed the ICC Men's ODI Team Rankings. The hosts won the ODI series 3-0 after registering a 142-run win in the match played in Ahmedabad; they won the first and second matches by four wickets each. Shubman Gill scored 112 in his 50th match to take India to 356 runs.
The visitors got off to a great start and scored 126/2 after 18 overs. But once again, England's weak middle order came to the fore and they crumbled to 175/8 by the middle of the 31st over and were eventually bundled out for 214. England's poor run since the 2023 ODI World Cup continues, with them suffering their 16th defeat in 23 matches. They lost seven out of eight matches on the tour of India - including a 4-1 defeat in the T20 tri-series.India have regained the top spot in the ICC ODI Team Rankings after completing a 3-0 series clean sweep against England. They currently have a team rating of 119. On the other hand, India have lost one rating point after their crushing defeat to England, dropping their rating from 93 to 92.
Pakistan improved one place to second spot after their record chase against South Africa at home to overtake Australia, who have slipped to third. Both have a team rating of 111 but Pakistan have played five matches less than the reigning world champions to make it to the table. Fourth-placed New Zealand also swapped positions with fifth-placed South Africa after registering two consecutive wins in the tri-series in Pakistan.
