Pakistan struggled to play consistently in the 2023 ICC Cricket World Cup, placing seventh in the group stage and losing out on the semifinals. Their campaign was ruined by significant defeats versus elite teams, even though they had a quality squad. As a result, their net run rate was low. Two notable games were an unexpected loss to Afghanistan and a close loss to India. Pakistan ultimately had an early departure from the tournament due to their inconsistent play and inability to capture significant victories.
Pakistan lost their first game against the United States and their second match against India, their bitter rivals, and were only able to win one of their three group-stage matches. Pakistan under Babar Azam has been knocked out of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024.
