Under Imran Khan's leadership, the 1992 World Cup was won by the Pakistan cricket team. Pakistan finished second in the 1999 Cricket World Cup after losing to Australia in the championship match. They have advanced to the Quarter Finals twice (1996 & 2015) and have been Semi-Finalists four times (1979, 1983, 1987, & 2011). Pakistan's record at the Cricket World Cup is 49–37 in wins, 37 losses, and 3 draws. More Pakistani players than any other have participated in six Cricket World Cups, including Javed Miandad.

ICC T20 World Cup 2014

Pakistan was positioned in the Super 10 stage's Group 1. Pakistan came in third in their group, behind West Indies and India, with two teams making it to the knockout stages.With two victories and two losses from four games, Pakistan was eliminated from the Super 10 tournament as a result.Pakistan defeated Australia and Bangladesh but lost to the West Indies and India.

ICC Cricket World Cup 2015

Pakistan faltered into the quarterfinals under a backdrop of player-coach issues. Four straight wins were sandwiched by two consecutive defeats. Wahab Riaz gave Pakistan some energy when they faced the hosts Australia in the quarterfinals, but they ultimately lost.

ICC T20 World Cup 2016

Notably, India and the Kiwis advanced to the knockout round.Out of four games, Pakistan won one victory and three losses. Their three other matches resulted in heartbreaking losses; their lone victory came against Bangladesh.

ICC Champions Trophy 2017

To decide who would win the eighth edition of the ICC Champions Trophy, Pakistan and India squared off in the final on June 18, 2017, at The Oval in London.Pakistan defeated India by 180 runs, the greatest margin of victory in an ICC One-day International competition. Pakistan was the fifth country to win the Champions Trophy, although they were the underdogs competing with the lowest-ranked side. It was their first ICC ODI tournament championship since the 1992 World Cup, and their most recent ICC trophy in any format since the 2009 World Twenty20.

ICC Cricket World Cup 2019

Out of the eight matches, Pakistan has won five, with one being a washout. Their net run rate was severely damaged by their crushing losses to Australia, the West Indies, and India. Due to a lower net run rate than New Zealand, Pakistan finished fifth in the group stage and narrowly missed out on the semi-finals.

ICC T20 World Cup 2021

Pakistan had a great showing in the 2021 ICC T20 World Cup, winning all five of their group matches, including a remarkable 10-wicket victory over India, to advance to the semi-finals. Shaheen Afridi, Mohammad Rizwan, and Babar Azam were important figures. Pakistan set 177 runs as their aim in the semi-final match against Australia, but Australia chased it down thanks to three straight sixes from Matthew Wade to win by five wickets. Pakistan's entire performance was praiseworthy and showed their competitiveness on the international scene, even with the semi-final loss.

ICC T20 World Cup 2022

Pakistan played well in the 2022 ICC T20 World Cup, making it to the semi-finals. In the semifinal, they played England. England overcame Pakistan despite a heroic effort, as they easily reached the aim that Pakistan had set. Despite some excellent individual performances, Pakistan's campaign ended without them making it to the final. Pakistan was unable to overcome England's disciplined bowling and potent batting squad that day.

ICC Cricket World Cup 2023

Pakistan struggled to play consistently in the 2023 ICC Cricket World Cup, placing seventh in the group stage and losing out on the semifinals. Their campaign was ruined by significant defeats versus elite teams, even though they had a quality squad. As a result, their net run rate was low. Two notable games were an unexpected loss to Afghanistan and a close loss to India. Pakistan ultimately had an early departure from the tournament due to their inconsistent play and inability to capture significant victories.

ICC T20 World Cup 2024

Pakistan lost their first game against the United States and their second match against India, their bitter rivals, and were only able to win one of their three group-stage matches. Pakistan under Babar Azam has been knocked out of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024.
