India and Sri Lanka will jointly host the 2026 T20 World Cup. This will be the second time that India and Sri Lanka will host a T20 World Cup tournament. The date of the tournament has not been announced yet, but the T20 World Cup matches will be played in the month of February-March next year.
The 2026 T20 World Cup will also be played in the same format as the 2024 T20 World Cup. This time also 20 teams from all over the world will participate in this global tournament. The teams of these 20 countries will be divided into four groups of five teams each. Then the top-2 team from each group will enter the Super-8 stage. In the Super-8 stage also two groups of four teams each will be formed, in which the top-2 teams will qualify for the semi-finals and then the final match will be played between the teams winning the semi-final matches.
