The International Cricket Council keeps a result day in all its tournaments at least in the semi-finals and the final. The same has been done for the Champions Trophy. A reserve day has been kept for both the semi-finals as well as the final. The reserve day for the first semi-final to be held on the 4th has been kept on 5th March, while the reserve day for the second semi-final to be held on 5th March has been kept on 6th March. The final of the tournament is to be held on 9th March but if the match is not completed on that day then 10th March has been kept as the reserve day.

If it rains in the final match and the match is not completed, then an attempt will be made to complete it on the reserve day. If the match is not completed even on the reserve day, then the trophy will be shared between the two teams and both will be declared joint winners. In the history of this tournament, it has happened only once so far that two teams have been declared joint winners. The final of the Champions Trophy played in 2002 was between India and Sri Lanka. Both times, on the final day and on the reserve day, rain interrupted the match and the match could not be completed. In the end, the trophy was shared between the two teams.
