Ireland women announced T20 and ODI squads for the series against Zimbabwe: The Ireland women's cricket team has to play a white ball series against Zimbabwe at home, which is starting from July 20. During this time, Ireland has to play 3 T20 and 2 ODI matches. Ireland's squads have been announced for both these series. Gaby Lewis has been given the command of the T20 and ODI squads. Orla Prendergast has been chosen as her deputy.

Ireland has also selected 19-year-old Lara McBride in the T20 and ODI squads against Zimbabwe, for whom this is a maiden call-up in the senior team. The young spinner has represented Ireland in the Under-19 Women's T20 World Cup. Earlier this year, she impressed the selectors with her performance in the Avoca Super Series and has now made her place in the senior team.
Women's team chief selector calls the series important: Ireland's national women's selector Ciara O'Brien called the upcoming series important as Ireland prepare for next year's ICC Women's T20 World Cup. O'Brien said,
"This match against Zimbabwe and then the T20 series against Pakistan is an important start to the T20 World Cup qualifiers at the end of August. It's great to see Lara McBride joining the team for the first time, who has been working hard on her game and the upcoming series is also the first match for Lloyd Tennant as head coach, so we wish Lloyd and the team all the best."
