Before the IPL 2026 season, some big trade talks are happening between the teams. According to reports, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) are close to a big trade deal involving Ravindra Jadeja and Sanju Samson. There is also a chance that Sam Curran will be part of this deal.
As per Sources, all three players have reportedly agreed to the deal and even signed preliminary documents. However, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has not yet received any official communication, so the process remains incomplete for now.

Sources say this deal is almost done. CSK wants Sanju Samson as a strong Indian batter and possible future captain after MS Dhoni, while RR wants Ravindra Jadeja to make their middle order and all-rounder options stronger.
Both players were retained for ₹18 crore last season, so their swap value is the same. But for Sam Curran, CSK will need permission (NOC) from the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) since he is a foreign player.
IPL Trade Rules - The Process
The IPL trade process involves several formal steps:
- A franchise first submits an Expression of Interest (EOI) to the BCCI.
- The board then contacts the other franchise, which has 48 hours to respond.
- If the second team agrees, the player’s consent is obtained.

At the moment, BCCI officials have denied receiving any official request regarding this deal. One senior board member stated, “The matter hasn’t reached us yet in an official capacity.”

Reports reveal that RR initially proposed the inclusion of Dewald Brevis and Matheesa Pathirana in a trade deal, but CSK rejected the offer. Following that, Sam Curran’s name entered the discussion, and talks have since progressed in that direction.
