In view of the upcoming elections in some states of the country, the IPL Governing Council has taken a major decision. The tournament schedule will be released in two phases:
- First Phase: It is expected to be announced on March 6 or 7, with details of the matches for the first 13 to 14 days.
- Second Phase: The schedule for the second phase will be released after the election dates are announced, to ensure there are no security lapses.
RCB to Host Season Opener and Finals at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium

There is great news for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) fans. According to the official announcement made on March 3:
- The first match of the season will be played at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
- RCB will play its first five matches at its home ground.
- Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) Secretary Santosh Menon has confirmed that Bengaluru will also host the final and a playoff match this time.
