James Foster will now be part of Chennai's high-profile coaching staff, led by Head Coach Stephen Fleming. Here, Foster will collaborate on strategy alongside Batting Coach Michael Hussey and Bowling Coach Eric Simons.
Welcoming Foster on its official 'X' (formerly Twitter) handle, CSK wrote:
"Welcome our Fielding Coach, James Foster, to the 'Yellove' family. A former England wicketkeeper with coaching experience across teams worldwide, James now begins this new journey with 'Pride'."
Working Closely with MS Dhoni and Sanju Samson

James Foster's appointment is particularly significant as he will be working closely with the team's wicketkeepers. Under his guidance will be two major names:
- MS Dhoni: The former Indian captain and CSK's legendary wicketkeeper.
- Sanju Samson: The star player who was named 'Player of the Tournament' in the recently concluded T20 World Cup.

Foster's coaching career has been quite impressive. Since retiring from cricket in 2018, he has coached in leagues across the globe:
- IPL Experience: He has previously served as the Fielding and Assistant Coach for the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).
- Recent Success: In January, he led the Desert Vipers to the ILT20 title as their Head Coach.
- International Experience: He has also been a part of the coaching staff for major international teams such as England and New Zealand.
