The Indian Premier League 2025 resumes action after a week-long break, with Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) locking horns with SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow on Monday, May 19. With the playoff race heating up, this match holds significant importance—especially for LSG.
With five victories from eleven games, LSG is presently ranked sixth in the standings. With 10 points in the bank, they are still in contention for a playoff spot, making every remaining game a virtual knockout. On the other hand, SRH, last year’s finalists, have endured a disappointing season, managing only three wins in 11 matches and are now out of playoff contention.

His best figures of 3/35 highlight his ability to strike at crucial moments.
In SRH’s recent clash against Delhi Capitals, Unadkat returned with a miserly spell of 1/13 in four overs. Known for his variations and control, Unadkat will be key in containing LSG’s aggressive batting unit, which includes the likes of Nicholas Pooran, Mitchell Marsh, and Aiden Markram. SRH will be banking on his experience to put pressure on the opposition in the powerplay and middle overs.

SRH skipper Pat Cummins has led the attack with grit, emerging as one of their standout performers despite a lacklustre season for the team. With 13 wickets from 11 games, Cummins is currently SRH’s second-highest wicket-taker. His average of 29.92 and economy rate of 9.15 may not be extraordinary, but his knack for picking key wickets at important junctures makes him dangerous.
The last time these two sides met, Cummins struck twice, removing two vital batters—Mitchell Marsh and Nicholas Pooran. In SRH’s most recent outing before the break, he delivered a match-defining spell of 3/19 against Delhi Capitals. Emerging spinner Digvesh Rathi has been one of LSG’s brightest stars this season. He currently shares the top spot on the team’s wicket-takers list with 12 scalps in 11 games. Boasting an average of 29.66 and an economy of 8.09, Rathi has played a crucial role in the middle overs, often breaking partnerships and stemming the flow of runs.
In LSG’s recent fixture against Punjab Kings, Rathi bagged two important wickets—Prabhsimran Singh and Shreyas Iyer—finishing with figures of 2/46.
