Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) clinched a thrilling six-wicket victory against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in Match 70 of IPL 2025 at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow on Tuesday, May 27. With this win, RCB secured a top-two finish in the league stage and advanced directly to Qualifier 1 of the playoffs.
After losing the toss and being asked to bowl first, RCB conceded 227/3 in 20 overs. LSG's Rishabh Pant was the star performer, smashing an unbeaten 118 off 61 balls, including 12 fours and 6 sixes. He was well-supported by Mitchell Marsh, who contributed a quickfire 67 off 37 deliveries.
In response, RCB got off to a flying start thanks to Virat Kohli's explosive 54 off 30 balls. However, the real game-changer was Jitesh Sharma, who played a breathtaking knock of 85* off just 33 deliveries, including 7 fours and 6 sixes. He was ably supported by Mayank Agarwal (41* off 23) as RCB chased down the target with five balls to spare.
