Mumbai reached the final for the first time in 2010, the team topped the points table under the captaincy of Sachin Tendulkar. However, CSK defeated it in the final that season. Apart from all these seasons, the team also reached the playoffs in 2011, 2012, 2014 and 2023, but in these it remained at third or fourth place in the points table. In all these seasons, the team could not even reach the final, let alone win the title.
Mumbai Indians have played eliminator matches a total of 4 times in IPL history, out of which they have won 2 and lost 2. But they have never become champions after being ranked third or fourth in any season.
The eliminator match will be played on May 30 at Mullanpur Cricket Stadium. Which team will play with Mumbai Indians will be clear after the result of LSG vs RCB match. If RCB wins then Gujarat will play the eliminator, otherwise RCB.
