In a thrilling match of the Indian Premier League (IPL), Sunrisers Hyderabad defeated Punjab Kings by 2 runs. Punjab needed 29 runs in the last over, the team could score only 26 runs and lost the close match. Punjab's start in Mohali on Tuesday was the major reason for this defeat, the team made the lowest score of the season in the powerplay. Punjab captain Shikhar Dhawan was stumped for the record 8th time. Whereas SRH's Bhuvneshwar Kumar bowled his 13th maiden over in the league. SRH also registered their smallest win in terms of runs.
Sunrisers Hyderabad Abhishek Sharma scored 16 runs on 11 balls against Punjab. With this he also completed 1000 runs in IPL for SRH. He became only the third Indian to score more than a thousand runs for Hyderabad, before him only Manish Pandey and Shikhar Dhawan could do so. Including foreign players, he became the 7th player to score 1000 runs for SRH.

Punjab Kings captain Shikhar Dhawan was out after scoring 14 runs in 16 balls. He was stumped by Heinrich Klaasen on the ball of Bhuvneshwar Kumar. Dhawan was stumped for a record 8th time in IPL. In this matter he equaled Suresh Raina and Robin Uthappa. Both these batsmen have also been stumped only 8 times in IPL.
