Rajasthan Royals (RR) scored a hat-trick of wins this season by defeating Mumbai Indians (MI) in IPL 2024 on Monday. RR won against Mumbai by 6 wickets on Monday. MI, batting first, set a target of 126 runs at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, which Rajasthan easily chased by losing four wickets in 15.3 overs.
Mumbai team led by Hardik Pandya has faced defeat in three consecutive matches. Riag Parag played a brilliant half-century for Rajasthan. He scored unbeaten 54 runs in 39 balls. Parag hit five fours and three sixes. He added 32 runs for the fourth wicket with R Ashwin (16). Parag made an unbeaten partnership of 39 runs for the fifth wicket with Shubham Dubey (8 not out).

Rohit Sharma's return to his home ground was not good and he got out facing his very first ball in the opening over of the match. This was his 17th duck in the tournament, making him the joint player with the most number of ducks in IPL history. Now his name has been included in this unwanted list along with Dinesh Karthik. Since moving to MI in 2013, this was Rohit's 15th duck, thus becoming the player with the most number of ducks in MI history.

Despite his disappointing performance in his first match, MI management supported Kwena Maphaka and gave him a chance to play in the match against RR as well. South Africa's young sensation bowler performed well on Monday and gave a great start to the home team. Kwena Maphaka showed the way to the pavilion by dismissing Yashasvi Jaiswal in the very first over of the innings. With this wicket, the left-arm fast bowler became the youngest wicket-taker for MI in IPL history. Kwena Maphaka has overtaken Dewald Brevis in this list by taking wickets at the age of 17 years and 359 days. Earlier, Brevis had taken a wicket for MI at the age of 18 years and 345 days.

Trent Boult wreaked havoc with his bowling by dismissing all three Rohit Sharma, Naman Dheer and Dewald Brewis for golden ducks in the first innings. Bolt now has 25 wickets in the opening overs in the IPL and he is on top of this list along with Bhuvneshwar Kumar (25 wickets).
