India’s Champions Trophy Heroes Rise in ICC Rankings

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has released the latest ranking of players on Wednesday (12 March). Indian team's star spinners Kuldeep Yadav and Ravindra Jadeja have made a splash in it. They performed brilliantly in the Champions Trophy, due to which they got bumper gains. Whereas Virat Kohli has slipped one place.

The Indian team and players made a splash in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 hosted by Pakistan. In the final match held in Dubai on March 9, the Indian team defeated New Zealand by 4 wickets and won the title for the third time. After this, the International Cricket Council (ICC) has released the latest ranking of the players on Wednesday (March 12).

Indian team's star spinners Kuldeep Yadav and Ravindra Jadeja have rocked the ICC ODI bowling rankings. They performed brilliantly in the Champions Trophy, due to which they got bumper gains.

Jadeja reached top-10 of bowling rankings

Kuldeep and Jadeja have jumped 3-3 places. With this, Kuldeep has reached the third position. While Jadeja has entered the top-10. He has now come to the 10th position. These two are the only Indians in the top-10 bowlers. While Sri Lanka's Mahish Teekshna is at the top.

Shubman Gill still holds the top

On the other hand, Indian opener Shubman Gill is at the top in the ODI batting rankings. Former Pakistani captain Babar Azam is at number two. However, Indian captain Rohit Sharma has gained two places. He has now reached number three.

While Virat Kohli has slipped one position. He has now reached the 5th position. Only four Indians are in the top-10 of the ODI batting rankings. Apart from Gill, Kohli and Rohit, the fourth Indian is Shreyas Iyer, who is at the 8th position.

New Zealand's Rachin Ravindra, who scored the most runs in the Champions Trophy 2025, has gained 14 places. He has now reached the 14th position in the ODI batting rankings. Daryl Mitchell of the Kiwi team that lost to India in the final is the only batsman who is in the top-10. He has jumped one place to reach the sixth position.
