Indian women's Squad announced for ODI series against New Zealand: India has announced the squad for the three-match ODI series against New Zealand starting next week. Harmanpreet Kaur has been retained as captain after India's early exit from the ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2024. She will lead the ODI team in the series against New Zealand in Ahmedabad next week. At the same time, four uncapped players have got a place in the team for the first time.
The BCCI Women's Selection Committee announced the 16-member Indian women's ODI team against the upcoming New Zealand. The selectors have kept faith in Harmanpreet. She will be seen leading the team. Richa Ghosh was not named in the team announced on Thursday as the wicketkeeper-batter has to appear for her 12th board exams. Asha Sobhana is also out of the team due to injury and was not available for selection.
At the same time, Pooja Vastrakar, who was injured during the tournament in UAE, has also been rested for this series. Tejal Hasabnis, Saima Thakor and Priya Mishra have been included in the team for the first time. These four uncapped players have been included in the team. Mandhana will be Harmanpreet Kaur's deputy. In Richa's absence, Yastika Bhatia or Uma Chhetri will play the role of wicketkeeper.
