India's men's team has entered the final of the 4x400 meters relay race event of this championship. The Indian team has made it to the finals of this event for the first time.

The Indian quartet of Muhammad Anas Yahiya, Amoj Jacob, Muhammad Ajmal Variathodi and Rajesh Ramesh achieved this memorable success. The Indian men's team broke the Asian record in the 4x400m relay race by clocking 2:59.05 seconds. The previous record was in the name of Japanese players (2 minutes 59.51 seconds). The Indian team made it to the final by securing second place behind America.
India started with Muhammad Anas Yahiya who was at number six after the first run. After this, the brilliant running of Amoj Jacob took India to second place. Then Muhammad Ajmal Variathodi and Rajesh Ramesh maintained that valuable lead. Rajesh even momentarily overpowered Justin Robinson of USA in the anchor leg, much to the astonishment of the fans present in the stadium.
India was placed in Heat-1 against America, who qualified for the finals by being on top. American players completed the race in two minutes 58.47 seconds. India was ahead of teams like Great Britain and Botswana in the race, which was quite a surprise performance. Jamaica (2:59:82 sec), France (3:00:05 sec) and Italy (3:00:14 sec) and Netherlands (3:00:23 sec) made it to the final from Heat-2.
