Pakistan, batting first after winning the toss, faltered against India’s pace and spin. Jasprit Bumrah and Hardik Pandya struck early, while Kuldeep Yadav (3 wickets) and Axar Patel (2 wickets) dismantled the middle order. Pakistan were in deep trouble before Shaheen Shah Afridi’s late cameo lifted them to 127/9 in 20 overs.
Chasing 128, India lost both openers early to Saim Ayub, reducing them to 17/2. But captain Suryakumar Yadav and Tilak Varma rebuilt the innings with a solid 50-run partnership. Varma scored a fluent 31 before falling to Ayub, while SKY anchored the chase with boundaries across the park. Shivam Dube finished with a towering six to seal the victory.

Shaheen Afridi (late cameo); Kuldeep Yadav 3 wickets, Axar Patel 2 wickets.
Suryakumar Yadav (unbeaten), Tilak Varma (31), Shivam Dube (finishing six).
This was the first clash after the Pahalgam terror attacks, making the atmosphere tense. Symbolically, Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav refrained from shaking hands with Salman Ali Agha at the toss — a silent statement of protest. Still, both sides kept their focus on cricket, ensuring a professional contest.
India’s 7-wicket win in Asia Cup 2025 Match 6 was a testament to their balanced squad and strong leadership. With bowlers setting up the platform and the batting unit finishing the job, India dominated Pakistan once again. As the Asia Cup progresses, India look strong contenders, while Pakistan will need urgent fixes in their batting to stay competitive.
