Former India bowling coach Paras Mhambrey has given the reason for Umran Malik's ouster from the team. He believes that lack of control while bowling is the main reason for his ouster from the team. When he was seen bowling at 145-148 kmph, I am not one of those who get impressed by seeing 160 kmph on the speed gun. I don't think it's right. You know that fast speed was his strength. He was definitely fast and was bowling at a speed of more than 140.
It is good to bowl at that speed consistently and he has done that too. But how does he do it? In T20, if you can't control, you have to struggle. Once you do that, you lose the confidence of the captain."
At the same time, Paras Mhambrey has advised Umran Malik to play in the Ranji Trophy. So that he can get control over his line and length. He further said, "Therefore, one has to gain control and this will be possible only when he plays Ranji Trophy. That's why we are asking him for Ranji Trophy. Because when he plays a season, even under pressure, he will be able to showcase his skills."
