Team India is now on a tour of Zimbabwe for a 5-match T20 series. The first T20 match will be played at Harare Sports Club from July 6. Shubman Gill will lead the team for the first time.
Gill was dropped from the T20 World Cup squad and the batsman is eager to prove both his batting and leadership abilities. On the other hand, Riyan Parag and Abhishek Sharma will make their international debut after their impressive IPL performances.
Zimbabwe also have a brigade of young players, with Sikandar Raza taking over the captaincy for the five-match T20 series. The hosts' bowling has the likes of Blessing Muzarabani, Wellington Masakadza and Richard Ngarava and the team is quite strong this time. With an intention to re-emerge at the international level, Zimbabwe will take this series as a golden opportunity to announce their new version in this format.
