The Asia Cup 2025 came to an exciting end with a big clash between India and Pakistan. For the first time in the tournament’s 41-year history, both rivals met in the final. India defeated Pakistan by five wickets and won the title in style.
Batting first, Pakistan scored 146 runs. India chased the target in 19.4 overs, with Tilak Varma playing a brilliant unbeaten knock of 69 runs. Left-arm spinner Kuldeep Yadav starred with four wickets to put Pakistan under pressure.
However, after the win, the Indian team surprised everyone by refusing to take the trophy and awards. They also avoided the traditional handshake and prize ceremony with the Pakistan team and ACC President Mohsin Naqvi.

Abhishek Sharma: India’s New Star
Young opener Abhishek Sharma impressed with his consistency throughout the tournament. Except for the final, he scored more than 20 runs in every match. In 7 innings, he made 314 runs at a strike rate of 200, including three fifties. His fearless batting earned him the Player of the Tournament award.
Kuldeep Yadav: Spin Wizard
Kuldeep Yadav was the top wicket-taker of Asia Cup 2025. In 7 innings, he picked up 17 wickets with two four-wicket hauls. His economy rate of just 6.28 made him India’s most valuable bowler. He was rightly rewarded as the Valuable Player of the Tournament.
India’s victory against Pakistan not only gave them another Asia Cup title but also showed the rise of young match-winners like Abhishek Sharma and Tilak Varma, along with the experience of Kuldeep Yadav.
