Ben Stokes ruled out of fifth Test match due to shoulder injury: England will take the field without captain Ben Stokes in the fifth Test against India to be played at Kennington Oval from July 31. Stokes has been ruled out of the fifth and final Test of the series due to injury. England has also announced the playing XI for the fifth Test. In Stokes' absence, batsman Ollie Pope will be seen captaining England in the fifth Test.

The England Board gave an update and said that English captain Ben Stokes suffered a shoulder injury, due to which he will not be available for the team in the fifth Test. Stokes' absence can prove to be a big setback for England and a big advantage for Team India. Stokes has done wonders in the series so far with the bat and ball along with being a captain.

England has released the playing 11 for the last Test to be played at Kennington in London. Four changes were made in the English team in the form of Ben Stokes, Jofra Archer, Liam Dawson and Brydon. In place of the four players, all-rounders Jacob Bethell, Gus Atkinson, Jamie Overton and Josh Tongue have been made part of the playing 11.
