IND vs AUS: When Rohit Sharma's name was not in India's playing-11 for the Sydney Test match, then the news of his retirement started coming out. Rohit Sharma has now broken his silence on these reports and has clearly said that 'I am not going anywhere.' On Saturday, the second day of the last match of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy being played at the Sydney Cricket Ground, Rohit told why he sat out, what he is thinking and what is his strategy for the future.
Rohit did not play in the first Test match on the current Australia tour. After this, he came in the second Test match, but his bat did not score any runs. Only 31 runs came off Rohit's bat in three matches. During this, Rohit's batting position was also under question. In the Sydney Test, he decided to keep himself out. Talking to Star Sports after the first session of the match on the second day, Rohit said that he himself is out and the talk of his retirement is useless. Read every word of Rohit Sharma's interview.
Rohit Sharma Interview: Rohit's full statement- "I myself decided to drop out. This is all I want to say. I will say one word, but there are 50 more words. I had a conversation with the coach and selectors. My bat is not scoring runs and I am not in form. This is an important match for us and hence we need players who are in form. So it was in my mind that we cannot keep players who are in poor form. So I thought I should tell the coach and selectors what is going on in my mind. They supported my decision. They said that if you have been playing for so many years, then you will know more about your game and you are in the best position to take a decision about it."
Rohit further said, "It was a difficult decision for me, but if you take everything into consideration, it was also a wise decision. I have come here from such a far distance, so I have not come here to sit out or not play matches. I have to play matches. I have to make the team win matches. Since the first time I came in 2007, it has been my only aim to make the team win matches. Sometimes you have to understand what the team needs. If you do not put the team first, then there is no use. I do not believe in what is going to happen after five months, what is going to happen after six months."
Team first, always! ??

Rohit further said, "This is not a decision to retire. And neither am I going to step down. I sat out of this match because runs were not coming from my bat. There is no guarantee that runs will not come after five months. There is no guarantee that runs will not come after two months. I have seen a lot in cricket that life changes every second, every minute, every day. I trust myself that things can change, but at the same time I should also be practical. So life will not change with what people with mic, pen or laptop write or say. They cannot decide when we should retire, when we should sit out, when we should captain. I am a sensible man, a mature man, a father of two children. So I know what I want in life."
When Jatin Sapru was thanking Rohit after the interview, he quickly said, "Hey brother, I am not going anywhere." After saying this, Rohit left immediately.
