Sam Konstas and Usman Khawaja came out to bat for Australia. Bumrah started the bowling for India and Kontas started the match by hitting a four on the first ball and Australia scored 6 runs in the first over. Mohammad Siraj bowled well and gave 2 runs in the second over. After that Bumrah came to bowl the last over of the day.
Before the second last ball of the last over of the day, Khawaja interrupted Bumrah's run-up, which angered the fast bowler.
