As the much-awaited fifth and final Test match between India and England at the Oval approaches, cricket fans are not only eagerly waiting for the series decider but are also keeping an eye on the possible changes in the ICC Test rankings. With the series currently tied at 2-1 in favour of England, the upcoming match not only promises to be a thrilling encounter but will also bring important results for both individual players and team rankings.
The ICC released the latest rankings on Wednesday, July 30, ahead of the India vs England fifth Test. Ravindra Jadeja and Washington Sundar, who scored centuries in Manchester, have gained while Yashasvi Jaiswal has slipped 3 places. Rishabh Pant now tops the ICC Men's Test Batsmen's Rankings as the Indian player, he is at the 7th spot in the list. Captain Shubman Gill remains at the 9th spot.
Australia top the latest ICC Men's Test Team Rankings with 124 rating points, followed by South Africa (115) and England (113) in the latest ICC Men's Test Team Rankings updated on July 14, 2025. India are currently fourth with 105 points.
India put up a valiant performance in the drawn fourth Test match at Old Trafford but there is no significant change in the team's position in the World Test Championship (WTC) table, where both England and India remain third and fourth respectively. However, a win for either team at the Oval will certainly impact their overall ICC Test rating points.
