ICC announces three nominations for the month of June
The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the contenders for the Player of the Month title for the month of June after the T20 World Cup. This includes Rohit Sharma, Jaspreet Bumrah, who won the T20 World Cup title for Team India after 17 years, and Afghanistan batsman Rahmanullah Gurbaz.
1. Rohit sharma
Rohit Sharma was the highest run scorer for India in the T20 World Cup. He scored 257 runs in 8 matches at an average of 36.71 and a great strike rate of 156.7. Rohit scored 92 runs in 41 balls against the biggest contender of the World Cup, Australia, in the Super-8. He also scored 57 runs in 39 balls against defending champion England in the semi-finals.
2. Jasprit Bumrah
Team India's fast bowler Jaspreet Bumrah also performed very well in the T20 World Cup. He bowled at an economy of 4.17 in 8 matches and also took 15 wickets. He was the second highest wicket taker for Team India. He was also the Player of the Series.
3. Rehmanullah Gurbaz
Afghanistan's opening batsman Rahmanullah Gurbaz also performed brilliantly in the T20 World Cup. He was also the top run scorer of the tournament. Gurbaz batted at a strike rate of 124.33 in 8 matches and scored 281 runs. He also scored 3 half-centuries during his innings.
