While other players like Rishabh Pant and Shubman Gill are also under consideration, Hardik Pandya's leadership in high-pressure situations puts him at the forefront. Reports suggest that Gill still needs more time to mature as a leader, and Suryakumar Yadav is yet to cement his place in the ODI lineup.
The report further stated, "Gill needs more training to mature as a captain, and SRH's ODI performances have not been convincing enough. If Rohit is not available, Hardik remains the most balanced option to lead India in ODIs."
