Hardik Pandya, one of India's most versatile cricketers, has reclaimed the No. 1 spot in the ICC T20I all-rounder rankings after his phenomenal performances against South Africa. Pandya played a pivotal role in India’s 3-1 series victory, proving his mettle with both the bat and the ball.
Pandya’s impact during the series was undeniable. His unbeaten 39 runs in the second match stabilized India’s innings in a challenging chase, while his economical bowling figures of 1/8 in three overs during the series-deciding fourth game were instrumental in clinching the series.
This is the second time Pandya has achieved the No. 1 ranking, the first being after the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup earlier this year.
While Hardik Pandya's return to the top grabbed headlines, the ascent of Tilak Varma to the top 10 in the ICC T20I batting rankings is equally noteworthy. The 21-year-old left-hander has shown immense promise and delivered on the international stage with outstanding performances against South Africa.

Tilak Varma’s exploits in the series included two centuries and a total of 280 runs across four matches. These performances catapulted him up the rankings by an astonishing 69 places, making him India’s highest-ranked batter at No. 3, just behind world No. 1 batter Travis Head.
Sanju Samson, another key player in the series, showcased his batting prowess with two centuries. His contributions helped him climb 17 spots to secure the 22nd position in the ICC T20I batting rankings.
While Tilak Varma’s rise is significant, it also pushed Suryakumar Yadav, India’s T20I skipper, down one spot to the fourth position. Despite this, Yadav remains one of the most explosive batters in the world.
