GMR Rugby Premier League (RPL) 2025: The first Rugby Premier League (RPL) is being organized in Mumbai from June 15. In which six franchise teams will participate. The organizers of this league gave this information. Satyam Trivedi, CEO of GMR Sports and promoter of this competition, said that this league will be organized from June 15 to 29 at Mumbai Football Arena in Andheri, Mumbai.

Six franchises Delhi Reds, Hyderabad Heroes, Kalinga Black Tigers, Chennai Bulls, Mumbai Dreamers and Bengaluru Bravehearts will participate in this league being organized for the first time in India.

The format of this league will be Rugby 7, which is recognized as an Olympic sport. Unlike the traditional rugby union format, in the rugby 7 format, each team has seven players on the field and there are two halves of seven minutes each. In the traditional format, a team has 15 players and two halves of 20 minutes each are played.

However, keeping the TV audience in mind in RPL, it has been made into four quarters of four minutes each and there will be a two-minute break between each quarter. Trivedi said, "This is a short format and we feel it works very well because the audience likes to watch the short format."
