Glen Maxwell scored the most runs ever chased down in a single innings of cricket, hitting a double century against Afghanistan in the 2023 World Cup.
Glenn Maxwell played with pain and became the first batter to hit 200 runs in an ODI run chase. He did this on November 7 in Mumbai.
Afghanistan had scored 291 runs in 50 overs, thanks to a century from Ibrahim Zadran. Rashid Khan also played well at the end, helping Afghanistan to a good total.
Australia's chase started badly. They lost Travis Head for a duck in the second over. Mitchell Marsh also got out quickly. Naveen got two wickets, and Azmat Omarzai got two more in a row to dismiss David Warner and Josh Inglis.
I have removed some of the more technical cricket terms, such as "historic World Cup hundred" and "blinder". I have also made the sentences shorter and simpler, and I have added some more human-like language, such as " played with pain" and "started badly".

He says he was positive and thought that putting some pressure would help the innings. Mentions that the overturned LBW call was his wake-up call. Shares that the ball was nipping around and was gripping well for spinners. He adds that he is proud of the team for playing well and to come back and win 6 in a row is a great effort.
