Dilip Doshi Death News: Former Indian spinner Dilip Doshi has passed away. Born in 1947, Doshi breathed his last in London at the age of 77. His death sent a wave of mourning in the cricket world. Doshi was also very popular as a successful Hindi commentator after his cricket career.

Former Indian spinner Dilip Doshi passed away in London: According to reports, left-arm spin bowler Doshi died due to heart related diseases. According to ESPNcricinfo, Doshi was living in London for the last several years. He is survived by wife Kalindi, son Nayan and daughter Vishakha. Son Nayan has played cricket for England's County Cricket - Surrey and Maharashtra's Saurashtra.

Dilip Doshi's cricket career

Dilip Doshi, who made his cricket debut in the 1970s at the age of 32, did not have a very long international career. He said goodbye to international cricket in the 1980s. Doshi has talked in detail about his cricket career in his autobiography - Spin Punch.

Doshi, who took 898 wickets in first-class cricket, took five wickets 43 times in 238 first-class matches. He took 10 wickets in a match six times.

On his demise, the Saurashtra Cricket Association said that he has left behind a rich legacy of skill, commitment, excellence. Recently, Doshi was also honored by the BCCI in a ceremony. He also attended the World Test Championship final played at Lord's Cricket Ground earlier this month.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) shared a picture of Dilip Doshi on its official X handle and informed about this sad news. In this message released on X, the board said, 'BCCI condoles the sad demise of former Indian spinner Dilip Doshi. He passed away in London. May God give peace to his soul.'
