His base price in the IPL 2026 auction was just ₹30 lakh, but he attracted fierce bidding during the auction. Several teams bid for him, but Chennai Super Kings were determined to acquire him. The franchise had even conducted trials for him. Ultimately, they secured him with a bid of Rs14.2 crore, making him the joint most expensive uncapped player in IPL history. Prashant Veer is being seen as a potential successor to Ravindra Jadeja, as he is also a left-arm spinner and a capable lower-order batsman, similar to Jadeja.

2. Kartik Sharma – 14.2 crore (Chennai Super Kings, 2025)

After being bought by Chennai Super Kings for ₹14.20 crore in the IPL 2026 auction, he became the joint-most expensive uncapped player in IPL history.
