Pakistan won the three-match T20 series against West Indies 2-1. Despite winning this series, the Pakistan team (Pakistan Cricket Team) has suffered a major setback. Opener Fakhar Zaman has been ruled out not only from the third T20 match but also from the ODI series due to a strain in his left hamstring.
The PCB has confirmed that Fakhar will return to Pakistan on August 4, where the medical team at the Lahore-based National Cricket Academy (NCA) will monitor his recovery. Let us tell you that during the second T20I between PAK vs WI, Fakhar Zaman was injured while chasing the ball in the outfield in the 19th over of the West Indies innings. After this, the medical examination revealed a minor strain in the left hamstring. He could not play in the third T20I and was replaced by Khushdil Shah in the team.
Fakhar Zaman scored 28 and 20 runs in the first two T20 matches, but both times he could not convert the good start into a big innings. Fakhar's exclusion from the third T20 as well as the entire ODI series has dealt a big blow to the Pakistan team. The Pakistan team defeated West Indies by 13 runs in the last T20 match and won the three-match T20 series 2-1. The real heroes of the Pakistan team were Sahib Ayub and Sahibzada Farhan, who made a partnership of 138 runs for the first wicket.
