The last date to apply for the selector post is 10 September. Meanwhile, news came that experienced fast bowler Praveen Kumar has applied for the selector post. Now a big revelation has come on this matter that Praveen has not actually applied.

Praveen Kumar has been working as the chief selector of the senior men's team of Uttar Pradesh for the last one year. For the appointment of two new selectors, the BCCI had laid down a condition that the applicant should be a person who has retired from cricket at least 5 years ago. Praveen Kumar falls in this category.
What is the truth?
According to news agency IANS, a senior BCCI official has confirmed that Praveen Kumar has not applied for the post of selector. Praveen Kumar was known for his tremendous swing bowling. He played 6 Tests, 68 ODIs and 10 T20 matches for India, in which he took a total of 112 wickets.
Announcing the eligibility for the post of selector, the BCCI had said that the applicant should be a person who has retired at least five years ago. The applicant should have experience of 7 Test matches or 30 first-class matches. Or applicants who have played 10 ODIs and 20 first-class matches will also be considered. The applicant should not be a part of any cricket committee of BCCI for the last 5 years. Currently the chief selector is Ajit Agarkar, apart from him SS Das and Ajay Ratra are also in the committee.
