England have registered several impressive ODI wins over the years and each time they seem to have dominated the game. Defeating West Indies by 238 runs at Edgbaston on Thursday is yet another feather in their already impressive achievements. Let's take a closer look at England's five biggest ODI wins in terms of runs.
England scored a mammoth 481/6 against Australia in Nottingham in 2018, which was the highest ODI score at that time. Bairstow scored 139, Hales 147 and Morgan 67. Chasing 482, Australia were bowled out for 239 in 37 overs. England won by 242 runs, their biggest win in ODI history.
England scored 400/8 at Edgbaston on 20 November 2025. England's 238-run win over the West Indies gave Harry Brooke his full-time ODI captaincy debut. The West Indies were bowled out for just 162 in 26.2 overs.
In 2022, England scored their highest ODI score of 498/4 thanks to the brilliant batting of Jos Buttler, who scored 162* off just 70 balls. Phil Salt (122), David Malan (125) and Liam Livingstone (66) scored runs. England bowled out the Netherlands early and won by 232 runs.
England laid the foundation with Joe Root's brilliant 104 and Eoin Morgan's quickfire 50, but Jos Buttler's 129 off 77 balls and Adil Rashid's 69 helped England post a mammoth 408/9. Chasing a target of 409, New Zealand were all out for 198 in 31.1 overs and England won by 210 runs.
