England announced the squad for ODI and T20 series against West Indies: West Indies cricket will leave for England tour this month. Where it has to play a three-match ODI and an equal number of T20 series with England. The ECB has started preparations to host the West Indies team. Meanwhile, England's squad for this limited overs series was announced on Tuesday. Jos Buttler, Jacob Bethell, Will Jacks and Jamie Overton have been included in England's white ball team.
Apart from these four, Jofra Archer has been included in the ODI team while Phil Salt has got a place in the T20 team. At the same time, RCB's key all-rounder Liam Livingstone will not be a part of the team in any series. His recent format has been quite embarrassing, perhaps that is why he has been shown the way out of the team.
West Indies' tour of England is going to start on May 29 with a three-match ODI series, after which the same number of T20 matches will be played from June 6. The schedule of this series matches the updated schedule of IPL 2025. The remaining matches of the 18th season of IPL will be played again on May 17 and it will conclude on June 3.
Teams of players like Buttler, Jacob Bethel, Will Jacks and Salt are leading the race to make it to the playoffs. Now it will be very interesting to see whether these players remain with their teams in the playoff stage or will leave the franchise to perform national duty. Archer (Rajasthan Royals) and Overton (Chennai Super Kings) will be free before the start of the ODI series, as the teams of both these players have already been eliminated from the playoff race.
