ENG vs IND 2nd ODI 2025: India and England are set to take on each other in the second ODI of the three-match series at the Barabati Stadium in Cuttack on Sunday, February 09. After winning the first match, India will look to take the lead in the three-match series.

England started the match batting first. Ben Duckett (32) and Phil Salt (43) batted brilliantly, but captain Jos Buttler (52) and young Jacob Bethell (51) took over the innings. Both shared a crucial partnership of 59 runs. The Indian bowlers soon wrapped up the English tail-enders and bowled them out for 248 in 47.4 overs. Ravindra Jadeja and Harshit Rana took three wickets each. In response, vice-captain Shubman Gill was his team's top scorer with 87 (96), while Shreyas Iyer scored 59 (36). Apart from this, Axar Patel played a key role with the bat, scoring 52 runs in 47 balls. Although India lost some wickets in the middle, they managed to win the match by four wickets with 68 balls to spare.
Cuttack's Barabati Stadium is not a high-scoring ground, with only six of the 38 innings played here since 1982 crossing the 300-run mark. However, the fact that there have been four 300-plus scores in the last eight years shows that this surface is getting better for batsmen.
Although seamers have taken more wickets (137) than their spin counterparts (88) in ODIs on this ground, spinners have a better bowling average (36) and economy rate (4.74).
With dew likely in the evening, the toss could play a crucial role as teams would look to chase targets. Historically too, teams batting second have been more successful, winning 12 out of 19 matches. However, the team winning the toss in Cuttack has not had a major advantage as it has won eight matches while losing 11.

As per the toss prediction, England will win the toss and opt to bowl first. Shubman Gill will be the top multiplier choice for the small leagues.
