N Jagadeesan played the highest innings of 197 runs for the team. After this, the North Zone team could score only 361 runs in the first innings. In this way, South Zone got a lead of 175 runs on the basis of the first innings. Then the match was drawn. But due to the lead in the first innings, it reached the final.
